In my pro makeup kit, I had a foundation for every skin type, from oily to dry. With so many foundations on the market these days, it is difficult to find the right one for your needs. If you’re looking for a flawless foundation that will last all day, and will keep your oils at bay – you’re at the right place. Keep reading to find out the best foundation for oily skin.
Best Foundation for Oily Skin
Usually, oily skin is characterized by 3 things: Enlarged pores, acne prone tendencies, and textured skin that has a high shine throughout the day. If you find that your skin fits these characteristics, chances are that you have oily skin. So, what are the best products to use to combat these issues. I’m going to briefly start off with a primer.
If you’ve read this blog before, you’ll know that one of my top primers for oily skin is original Milk of Magnesia. This is the only oily combating product on the market that I have been absolutely obsessed with. I apply a very light coating in the oiliest areas of my clients, let it dry down to a powder, then follow with a foundation.
There are 2 foundations that I find works the best for oily skin. Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation ($39.50) is my top #1 pick. It has 36 shades to choose from and goes on and stays on all day with the least amount of blotting. It also has the best coverage for breakouts, texture, and oil control. It’s also full coverage! This was my go-to product in my pro makeup kit.
My second choice is MAC Cosmetics Pro Long Wear Foundation. This is made by the same company (Estee Lauder owns MAC) but has 24 shades and is a few dollars cheaper ($34) than the Doublewear foundation. Both are very reliable and I’ve never had issues with the longevity. Once the foundation sets, it’s flawless until you wash it off. This one also comes with a pump.
