How to make your face more feminine

There are many different opinions around the world of what makes a face look feminine.  Depending on your culture and ethnicity, there are hundreds of variations. It also depends on what mainstream media wants you to perceive is feminine and beautiful.

Today, I want to show you how to make your face more feminine based on YOUR own bone structure, the drag queen way. The shape of your skull doesn’t lie. Some women have a more masculine bone structure and some men have a more feminine bone structure. If you find yourself with features you want to tone down or bring out, I’m going to show you what you can do to highlight and contour those areas.

First off, let’s look at what the differences are in a man vs. woman’s bone structure. In this photo you see the male and female forehead profile. The male profile has a stronger, more protruding brow bone with a subtle forehead dip. The female forehead is rounded and smooth.

Also notice the jaw line. The male profile is long and vertical while the female profile is shorter and more angular.

Next is the hairline. Men usually have a hairline that forms the shape of a “M”, while women have a smooth half-moon shape. This varies greatly among women because as we age it is very common to get female pattern baldness. The woman’s hairline begins to form the masculine “M” shape.

Naturally, men have more distance between their cheekbone and jaw line. As women age, this area also begins to look more masculine because of sagging skin. There is an easy fix!

This is how most drag queens look so damn fabulous! Women will not need to be this dramatic since your features are already feminine.

Your goal (if you’re a man) should be to:

  • Make your forehead appear more smooth and round.
  • Disguise the “M” shaped hairline.
  • Create more cheekbone area and lift with under eye highlighting
  • Create less distance between your cheekbone and jaw line by lowering your cheekbone contour and raising your jaw line contour. Don’t give a 5 o’clock shadow!
  • Angle your jaw line from under your ear.
  • Increase the appearance of your top lip.
  • Raise your brows (either by plucking or redrawing) for a more wide-eyed appearance. Highlight it to hell.
  • Give the illusion of a smaller nose.
  • Lashes, Lashes, Lashes
  • Don’t forget to contour your Adam’s Apple.
