They finally arrived! I’ve been anticipating this order for weeks and yesterday my package of the JD Glow Cosmetics Galaxy Liquid Liners finally came in. Yay! I first heard about this brand from a friend and fellow makeup artist. Every once in awhile I troll their website to check things out. When I saw these, I knew I had to get my hands on them. They are made in the USA, vegan, and cruelty-free. These retail for $10 each, but also have a bundle of 6 for $55.
There are 9 ultra-metallic, multi-chromatic liners to choose from and most of them were completely sold out, so I picked up the last 3 available; Oil Spill, Sphinx, and Geometrix.
- Oil Spill – red/copper with a hot pink, orange, and brown shift.
- Sphinx – yellow gold with a green and orange shift
- Geometrix – true purple with a green, yellow, and pink shift
Colors I wasn’t able to buy and unsure of the full color story:
- Translayed – Pink/purple/blue/green shift
- Nocturnal – Blue/purple
- Spectra – Green/chartreuse/navy
- Shooketh – Pink/purple/orange/copper
- Rule #1 – White/babypink/lilac/blue
- Hot Topic – Rose Gold/pink/blue/copper
The packaging is simple and reminds me of a plastic mascara tube. There is 8 ml or 0.25 fl oz of product in each container. The plastic is clear, so you can see the shade you’re choosing. The applicator is a tiny, thin brush-tip that gives a super-precise line every time. Usually, I prefer felt-tip liners, but these were very easy to control and exact. Even with multiple dips, the formula stays thin and workable.
Pigmentation is excellent, but for ultra impact, I doubled my application. For this eyeshadow look (above) I used all 3 shades and love the way the look turned out. It created a rainbow effect that was very wearable and still demure enough to pull off. These liners look amazing and when utilized together, they create the most beautiful statement eye looks. I’ve never seen this many color-shifts in one product. Pictures do not do these justice.
Staying power is about 5 – 6 hours depending on activity, heat, and humidity. I live in the south and I did notice slight fading of the intense-ness after about 1 – 2 hours. That’s not to say that it’s not beautiful, because it is, but they do lose their punch a bit. Otherwise, these liners are great.
Overall, I am in love with these liners! The colors are so bright and vivid, yet wearable for makeup lovers my age. The colors are a little more subdued in normal house lights, but sunlight really amps these up. It’s really something to see.
I would imagine these being very poplar among teens and early 20 year olds, especially during prom, dance, and festival season. For the price, I think these are a total banger and I really love everything about these fiesty liners. Give them a try!
