This Karity Highlighter Palette Review has been a long time coming. I’ve had it in my makeup rotation now since mid-July, which was right around the time we started our house remodel. Needless to say, the palette has definitely become a staple in my everyday routine and featured in just about EVERY makeup tutorial or GRWM video posted since that time. It’s great, but you don’t need me to tell you that. The physical product speaks for itself. I have a 10% off promo code (not affiliated) which will help save you some $$. You can also use Shine5 and save $5.
If you’re familiar with Karity products, you’ll know that the packaging style is trendy and lively. Palette “additives” that bump up the price of most palettes, such as mirrors for example, are left out to keep the costs down. It does come with a magnetic closure and shade names written on the palette though.
The highlighter palettes come in 2 options with 4 shades each. Pink – designated for light to light-medium skin tones and Gold – for medium to deep skin tones. I received the pink and love the variety of shades provided.
RAVISH – is a light, silver-based, baby pink. It is highly reflective when applied with the fingers or a highlighter brush. It kicks up a lot of dust, so removing the excess on the back of the hand is a must.
LACEY – is slightly lighter than Ravish and a bit more silver. This is a perfect inner corner (eye) highlighter or a cheekbone highlight for the lightest of skin tones. It also kicks up dust, so plan accordingly.
DESIRE – is a light/medium true pink with gold undertones. In certain lights it almost shifts into a duo chrome. I love this shade and can see myself rocking it often with a simple smokey eye. The finish isn’t as metallic as the first 2 shades, but still gets a lot of attention.
RISQUE – is the darkest of the 4. It is a medium pink with bronze undertones and really kicks up a lot of powder. It has a very metallic finish and is perfect for light-medium skin tones. This shade is my least favorite of the bunch.
As you can see from the swatches, pigmentation is excellent, but still blendable on the skin.
I truly love this palette and see myself enjoying it for months to come. For $25, or $7.50 a shade, you get a BIG bang for your buck. Especially if you’re able to use all 4 shades.
