I’m always searching for the perfect eyeshadow palette and no matter how many brands bring out the latest and greatest, they always seem to fall short. So, the other day while trolling Amazon, this palette popped up in my “recommended” feed. I read a few reviews and bought it for $27.29. This is a 30-pan palette designed by BritishBeautyBlogger, a prominent blogger located in – you guessed it, the UK. So, is this Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours the Brave Palette life changing? Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours the Brave Palette
The packaging is very sturdy, gold plastic with the metallic Makeup Revolution insignia on the front. Once opened there is a giant, good quality mirror. The shadows are covered with a clear, plastic sheet with the shade names written on them. That annoys me immensely, but moving on…
As I said above, there are 30 shades total. 11 are matte shades and 19 are either high satin or metallic shades. The shadow quality is excellent for the majority of this palette, but there are a few that do fall short. For example, the shade I was most excited about, Skylight, which is the navy metallic with gold marbling on the top row, was a total disappointment. It has chunky glitter with no color payoff and major fallout. However, the other marble shade, Lonely Planet, is great. In fact, there are several unique, high-quality shades that I do not have in my collection.
The matte shades range from a pale, ivory white to a deep black. The black is a bit chalky, but complete workable. They also threw in a mossy green, forest green, warm brown, and a deep brown that reminds me very much of Makeup Geek’s Americano. Overall, the quality is good, but there is room for improvement. For them to incorporate such a wide variety of matte shades was very smart on the designer’s part, so kudos on that.
The metallic shades are the real winner in this palette. Most shades are buttery, pigmented, and unique. They don’t muddy down and are very distinct from one another. I could see these colors providing a fantastically romantic and sexy eye look with little effort. Very feminine, neutral, must-haves in here. They are easily picked up on a synthetic, fluffy brush with minimal fallout.
Overall, I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of this palette. It has a brilliant design that will suit women for use in everyday life, as well as during travel. They included essentials, such as a matte black, matte transition, and matte highlight with various shades in between to mix things up. They truly shined (no pun intended) with the variety of metallic finishes and shades, as well as the quality. Dare I say we have a COMPLETE palette in our hands? The answer is, YES! 2. My family and I just got back from traveling. On our way home, we stopped at a Mennonite bakery called Dutch Oven Bakery in Falkville, Alabama. That was the yummiest, most delicious food ever! If you ever get the chance to go, try the orange pound cake.
3. Would you consider yourself to be a makeup junkie? I do and absolutely love playing and trying out new (or old) makeup products. It’s beautiful and something I truly enjoy.
