Facial oils are an absolute must-have for my dry/combo skin, especially before applying foundation. So, when I started running low of my Lancome Absolue Precious Oil a few months ago (and didn’t have $185 to buy more) I started looking for dupes. Physician’s Formula Oil Elixir has 1 fluid ounce of $11.99 on Amazon or $15.99 at Walgreens, which is where I bought mine. So, is it comparable to Lancome? Click here to find out.
Physician’s Formula Oil Elixir Review
I have always been a fan of Physician’s Formula for their ability to provide high quality ingredients at drugstore prices. This oil elixir is no exception and boasts 99.5% organic, fragrance free, paraben free, and cruelty-free Mongongo oil and Rhodiola Extract.
The Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Oil Elixir comes in a white, glass bottle with a silver, self-loading dropper. The packaging is attractive while also being solid and sturdy. The dropper loads about a nickel-sized amount of oil, which is more than enough for the face, neck, and hands combined.
While not 100% fragrance free, in my opinion, the scent is vague and slightly floral. It’s not unpleasant and goes away after a minute two. The oil is lightweight, yet thick and penetrates my skin quickly. I still had remnants left behind that I blot away with a paper towel. After my first use, my skin felt immediately more soft, plump, and bouncy. Unfortunately, these effects are not permanent and skin goes back to normal when I stopped using for more than a day or two. Breakouts are minimal, which is a great change from the Lancome Precious Cells, that has always caused my chin, jaw line, and chest to breakout.
Overall, I am extremely impressed! It’s nice to be able to get similar benefits from a product, while not spending a huge chunk of money. I love the way my skin looks and feels after I use it, especially in conjunction with my skin care regimen. If you have dry skin or like a dewy glow from day-to-day, I highly recommend trying this out. I will be using this one for the long-haul. 🙂
