These pretty little palettes are from a quick trip to Walgreen’s yesterday. These were in a small display area in the cosmetics section designated for “Holiday” gifts. I picked up 2 of the neutral ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ 5 color eyeshadows. Although there were a few more palettes with vivid colors, I thought these were the more wearable and probably the most popular of the bunch. I haven’t done a Profusion Cosmetics Eyeshadow Review for y’all yet, so what better way to start with these inexpensive, $1 each palettes.
The eyeshadows on top is the Profusion Cosmetics #2 Twinkle Twinkle Palette, which consist of 5 all shimmer nude to neutrals. Swatched from left to right:
The first color on the left is a soft shimmery champagne. It has a nice consistency and is easy blended. This would be a perfect highlight color for the browbone, tear duct, or even on the cheekbone for fair complexions.

The second color is a patina gold color. The consistency is very soft and buttery. It’s a great lid color that will brighten up the eyes or could be used as a brow or cheekbone highlighter for women with darker skin tones.
The middle color is a shimmery mink color. It’s very wearable on the lid or crease. It would also be beautiful alone on the lid blended out toward the brow. Perfect for work or school. It has a very soft consistency like the other colors and is great quality.
The 4th color is my favorite of this palette. It is a warm, creamy gun-metal brown color that appears darker in person than in pictures. This color would look very sexy for a night out on any skin tone. It blends out to perfection and has a silky consistency.
The final color is my least favorite. I found it very hard to blend out and difficult to work with. It doesn’t build intensity, it’s chalky. It’s just BAD! In the palette this it is the MOST beautiful and stands out to me the most. This is the color that made me purchase this palette in the first place. The color that shows in the palette (in person) is not the color that shows on the skin or camera. It comes off very goldish-purple/mauve, yet in the palette it is a warm, deep chocolate. Bummer. The shadow just doesn’t perform and that was very disappointing.
Despite its discrepancy, this palette is definitely worth $1. $0.20 for 1 good quality eyeshadow is a steal! The only downside is that there are no matte colors but those can be had elsewhere.

The second batch is the Profusion Twinkle Twinkle #3 palette. This palette is my favorite because of the mix of cool tones and warm tones. Although, you still have no matte shades. Here is the swatched shadows:
The first color on the left is a pinky champagne shade. Very similar in quality and blendability to the other palette. This color would look beautiful as a cheekbone highlight on many skin tones due to the light rosy undertone. May not be suited for the lightest of skin tones as a cheek highlight but would look amazing on the lid color, brow bone, tear duct.
Moving to the right. This color is what the 5th color on the other palette should have been. It is a warm and bronzy chocolate shade. Photographs lighter than what is in the palette but the undertone stays true. Great consistency, perfect blendability.
3rd/middle color is a cool toned, misty moss-green. I’m not crazy about this color for myself but the quality is great. It comes off a little sheer but is buildable without too much fall-out. Would look great blended through the lower lashes.
The 4th color is gorgeous. Gorgeous! GORGEOUS! Cool toned gun-metal grey with a slight hint of blue/grey/green in photographs. In person this color is…wow. Dark and sultry yet still wearble during the daylight hours under a light hand. This is my color of choice for holiday parties and will accompany me to many of them. Great color pay-off.
The 5th and final color was (yet again) a disappointment. This beautiful dark shimmery black had great promise was chalky, sheer, and hard to work with. I don’t think it’s a total loss however, and I will try an eyeshadow base to see if things improve.
Overall I was extremely impressed with Profusion Cosmetics. I think that you cannot beat the price for these eyeshadows – that in my opinion could beat out many MAC colors in quality, size of product, and consistency. I was very proud to do a Profusion Cosmetics Eyeshadow Review and plan on reviewing many more of their line in the near future.
