Skintactix Review

A little over a month ago I received a sample pack of the Skintactix Complete Acne Control. My daughter has been struggling with her complexion so I thought this would be something great for her to try out.

Skintactix Review

It’s a 3 step program – first the septicide cleanser, then the gentle follicle exfoliator, and finally the Green Tea Poultice. Each sample is a little over 1 fl oz or 36 ml and should be used twice daily. Exfoliator should be used sparingly.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by the presentation of the packaging. The stickers were sloppily applied and uneven to each bottle. Even though this has nothing to do with the ability of the contents, to me it is a huge representation of the product. To be frank, if the packaging is a mess it is usually a precursor to what’s inside. First impressions are important to EVERY consumer. Professional presentations make successful businesses – period.

Skintactix Review

 STEP 1: The Septicide Cleanser

My daughter used the cleanser as directed everyday. Unfortunately, the cleanser was completely ineffective. It did not lather, was very thin/watery, and the scent was a bit overbearing. People with sensitive skin (especially to frangrance) may have increased inflammation as my daughter did. The ingredients according to their website are:

INGREDIENTS: Deionized Water (Aqua), Sodium Olefin C14-16 Sulfonate, Sodium Lauroyl Wheat Amino Acids, Glycerin, Wild Marjoram (Origanum Vulgare) Extract, Turmeric (Curcuma Longa) Extract, Licorice (Glycrrhiza Glabra) Extract, Salicylic Acid, Lavender (Lavendula Angustifolia) Oil, Citric Acid, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Methylisothiazolinone.

STEP 2: Gentle Follicle Exfoliator

The exfoliator seemed to work as expected and made her skin feel soft and smooth. According to their website, the exfoliator ingredients are:

INGREDIENTS: Deionized Water (Aqua), Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) Extract, Lemon (Citrus Medica Limonum) Extract, Glycolic Acid, Bilberry (Vaccinium Mytrillus) Extract, Sage (Salvia Officinalis) Extract, Soybean (Glycine Soja) Phospholipids, Proline, Alamine, Arginine, Willow Bark (Salix Alba) Extract, Panthenol, Benzyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Zinc, Acetylmethionate, Phenoxyethanol, Salicylic Acid, Triclosan, Potassium Sorbate, Ethylhexyl Glycerin, Captyloyl Glycine, Capryloyl Glycol, Tetrasodium EDTA.

STEP 3: Green Tea Poultice

The poultice, which is meant to reduce inflammation and pull out infection, was difficult to use. Since it has a thicker consistency, it stuck to the plastic bottle and was hard to dispense. This can be rectified if the company would switch to  plastic tube packaging.

According to the website the ingredients are:

INGREDIENTS: Deionized Water (Aqua), Montmorillonite (Clay), Safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius) Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Green Tea (Camellia Oleifera) Extract, Betaglucan, Sulfur, Turmeric (Curcuma Longa) Extract, Willow Bark (Salix Alba) Extract, Aloe Vera (Barbadensis) Extract, Hydrocotyl (Centella Asiatica) Extract, Grapeseed (Vitis Vindera) Extract, Neem (Melia Azadirachta) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Salicylic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I was disappointed in the product. I think the Skintactix company has the ability to improve if they tweak the formula and fix the packaging errors. At the given state, I would not recommend the product.

I appreciate their trust in me for an open and honest review and wish the company the best.
