When it comes to palettes, there’s plenty of criteria a brand has to meet to blow off my bobby socks. It needs to be luxurious, offer high-quality product, be sleek and travel friendly, provide long-wearing performance, and not break the bank. Virtually unattainable right? Meet the Tarte Park Ave. Princess Chisel Palette. It’s nearly perfect in every way. For the full, detailed review including swatches and pictures, please continue reading.

Tarte Park Ave Princess Chisel Palette Review

I recently purchased the Tarte palette from Sephora after having a major mishap with a similar contour/bronzer palette. Instead of repurchasing that one, I decided to give Tarte a try. I’m so glad I did! The Park Ave. Princess palette retails for $46 and offers 6 large powders. When I removed it from the box, I literally had a Harry Met Sally momentyes, Yes, YES it’s that good. See the video review for more info.

The packaging is glorious. It’s a weighted, rose-gold metal palette with crocodile embossing. There is large, gold lettering with the name of the palette front and center. It’s durable, sturdy and sleek. Once opened, there is a great quality mirror that is generously sized with the phrase “Chiseled like a Diamond” on the lower right. There are 6 shades total. 2 of the shades are light and 4 are varying degrees of dark. Each have a slight chocolate scent that is very minimal.

From left to right:

  • Halo – a matte, pink tone, which is great for brightening under the eyes.
  • Enhance – a matte, yellow tone for highlighting points of the face you want to stand out.
  • Carat – a mid-toned neutral brown with a subtle glow
  • Princess-Cut – a matte, cool-toned brown for contouring
  • Angel – a matte, warm brown for bronzing
  • Crown – a dark, warm-toned brown with shimmer.

Every shade is soft, buttery, and perfectly pigmented. Not too much, not too little. They blend into the skin with ease and provide a natural finish. Even the dark shimmers add a radiant touch that is believable, not dramatic. Unfortunately, this palette will only suit light to medium skin tones. Hopefully, more inclusive palettes will be launching soon.
