I’ve heard amazing things about Wet n Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powder. So, when shopping in my local CVS recently, I came across a few limited edition versions in the shades Lilac to Reality and The Sweetest Bling. I’m not sure how new these are, but for $4.99, I thought it would be interesting to compare to higher-end highlighters in my collection. For more info, please continue reading.

I was immediately drawn to these highlighters like a moth to flame. The packaging is sturdy, white plastic with a clear top displaying a high-shine powder with an adorable heart-shaped center. The Lilac to Reality shade is a blue/violet duo chrome with a bright silver heart, while The Sweetest Bling is a baby pink/silver with a lighter, pink-toned heart. There is a little over 5 grams of product in each.
Both shades are beautifully metallic when swatched on the back of my hand and intensified when applied wet. They are very soft to the touch with finely milled pigment and no trace of glitter. They blend out easily for a more “daytime” application, but can be built up to an intense glow. The Sweetest Bling is more natural of course, but I’m drawn to the fun Lilac shade. It adds an eye-catching, inner-corner highlight to the eyes that is beautiful with both natural or dramatic looks. It’s also the more pigmented of the 2 in my opinion.
Overall, I have really enjoyed both of these highlighters. They accentuated my texture just a little, but nothing major and I still will continue to use them. Comparable high-end products for the Lilac shade would be from the Anastasia Moon Child palette in the shade Blue Moon. Laura Geller Baked Gelato in Charming Pink would be comparable for the pink shade. These highlighters are definitely worth checking out if you enjoy a good quality highlighter at a very affordable price.
- The lipstick I’m wearing in this picture is L.A. Girl liquid lip in Secret. This shade paired with the lilac highlighter would be so cute for the 4th of July.
- Who else is super excited about Season 2 of Stranger Things?
- Has anybody tried the Makeup Revolution highlighters? The heart-shaped ones? Let me know!
