After the release of the new Rimmel Provocalips, I made a recent stop to CVS to see if their claims were true. The website description boasts 16 hour, transfer proof, food proof, kiss proof, moisturizing wear that is suitable for dry lips. I purchased 3 out of the 8 shades available and wore all of them over the weekend.
This weekend was super busy. I was involved in the Model Search for OBR Fashion Week for 7 hours Friday and 8 hours Saturday. Since I wouldn’t have much time to touch up my makeup, I thought this would be the perfect time to try out the new lipstick.
At 11:00 a.m. Friday, I applied shade #200 – I’ll Call You, which is a creamy mauve/pink shade. I paired it with a sable smokey eye from the Lorac Pro palette with black winged liner. Similar to the Vampy Valentine Eye Look tutorial from last week but with pinks and mauves.
Later that night (and after my 11:00 p.m. shower) the lipstick was still almost perfect. In fact, I woke up with lipstick still on Saturday morning.
Fast forward to Sunday morning at 10 a.m. and the red shade is calling my name! #550 Play with Fire is a deep, brick red that would suit any skin tone. I applied it a little after 11:00 a.m. with the doe foot applicator.
I perfected the lip with a makeup brush for nice clean lines. After setting for about 60 seconds, I applied the Step 2, clear lock & shine. This is what the red looks like when finished:
After several hours, eating lunch, and drinking tea, I took another picture – No touch ups. You can see some wear on the inner rim of the lips, but besides that it’s perfect.
It’s my final check in, around 9:30 p.m. I ate a Subway Veggie Delite sandwich with honey mustard and a side of Kettle Jalapeño potato chips for dinner. For dessert, I ate a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich. I also drank several glasses of water in between lunch and dinner. This is the lipstick after 10 hours without touch-ups.
I realize that it’s not perfect, but it’s not terrible. From a few feet away you can’t even tell. The finish is still vibrant, it never settled into my fine lines around my lips, and it stayed moisturized throughout the whole day. For $6.99 a lipstick, these are an absolute must-have! I will be going back for the additional shades.

1. I’s officially an old lady. After this weekend, I’ve never been so sore in my whole life. Walking in heels all day, squatting to measure models, kneeling. Pain!
2. There were so many wonderful people that showed up this weekend to the model search. People from all around the state and other states! Everyone was so nice and I loved meeting and working with people with the same goals as me. Fellow makeup artists, hair and nail stylist, bloggers, designers. It was a blast. Hard work, but totally worth it!
3. A little throwback from last Easter. Family and friends eating crawfish by the river. I’m really looking forward to Spring!
4. Please like me on Facebook! I post reviews and other pics you won’t see here.
